County Council top 100 UK apprentice employer
Growth, jobs and economic prosperity for Staffordshire has been our top priority from day one
Things are going pretty well considering the national difficulties. I’ll write more about economic growth in Staffordshire over the next few weeks. We’ll have some significant announcements on that subject very soon.
It’s fair to say that jobs wise, younger people at the start of their working lives have found employment opportunities hard to come by. To help that specific aspect we decided to kick off a new apprentice scheme for the County Council just under a year ago. It’s grown steadily during that time and offered tremendous and highly varied experience for those on the scheme. From chefs to teaching assistants and laboratory technicians to structural engineers it’s had an impact right across the county.
And it’s just been announced that Staffordshire County Council is one of the top 100 apprenticeship providers across all sectors in the United Kingdom. Good progress building skills and a great start for hundreds of people at the beginning or their working life.
