New lunch club for Fazeley over 60s
Getting out of the house, having a bit of lunch and meeting friends from the Fazeley, Mile Oak and Bonehill area.
That’s what the new One o’clock Club is all about when it meets each Monday at, yes you’ve guessed it, 1pm. They meet in the Fazeley Link at Mill Lane, a couple of hundred yards from the Town Hall.
The brand new club for over 60’s is run by the charity Lichfield Live at Home and when I visited them this week they’d just finished lunch and were about to get stuck into a game of Bingo. There are plans for trips out to interesting places, guest speakers to talk to the group after lunch and lots and lots of socialising. There is a small charge to attend but everyone I spoke to thought it was excellent value for money.
Anyone from the Fazeley, Mile Oak and Bonehill area is welcome and there is even a pick up and drop off service for those who can’t get there under their own ’steam’. A really excellent new weekly social event and anyone wanting more details for themselves or someone they know can call 01543 415020 to find out more.
But this couldn’t happen without the help of the tremendous volunteers. And the more the merrier when it comes to helping so anyone who can spare an hour on a Monday and is willing to play a crucial part in helping the older members of the local Fazeley community should contact Val at Lichfield Live at Home on the number mentioned earlier.

This is just what the area needs. My elderly mother spends too much time on her own but this is the sort of thing she may just attend. Looks great.
