Having listened to your comments this am on Radio Stoke I was amazed at how out of touch you are. The only relevant comment you made was that the electorate should receive information on the candidates through the letter box. The weather was mainly irrelevant. Judging by comments on the net there were 2 main reasons why people did not vote, or knowingly spoilt their ballot papers.
Firstly they had no idea, apart from the names and party affiliations for whom, or what, they were voting, a more ill advised election is hard to imagine. Secondly we are all fed up with the party affiliations bit, what we wanted was a straight forward vote for the best person, be he left, right or neutral.

I like Matthew’s idea for a Police Cadet service. It is positive. It might give some youngsters a focus for their lives. Something they would enjoy. An understanding of some of the problems engaging the police and our communities. Of course, it may not work, but we have to look for new ways to engage people in society.

I am concerned that Joy Garner refuses to face the reality of the need for cuts. These cuts have been imposed by central government. Nobody likes making cuts but if your budget does not stretch far enough, you have to cut your cloth accordingly and make your budget work. Should she be elected, I hope she will not spend her time fighting a futile battle against a problem she cannot effect, but concentrate her energies on strategic guidance to the police so they can operate on the resources they do have available.

Once again, Matthew is being innovative ,we know that the old ways are expensive and not working, Matthew Ellis is inspirational in his ideas, and because of his business connections is able to talk to both business and government, no mean feat in this day and age. The whole country needs to unite to get us back on track, this means everyone, young and old alike. If this scheme to have young police cadets is of no expense to the taxpayer, for goodness sake let’s give it a try .From little acorns great oak trees grow. With Matthew we could end up with some young people who will stand strong and tall like great oak trees, these young people are the future.let’s let the young people decide but we do have to give them the opportunity and the choice.
