Crowds enjoy the sunshine at Canwell Show

In reality though it’s much more than just agriculture at the Canwell Show with an amazing array of attractions for the whole family made all the better by the beautiful weather.

That said, the agricultural roots definitely haven’t been forgotten with plenty of rural pursuits you’d expect to find in an episode of All Creatures Great and Small.

Best in Show across several different breeds, funniest scarecrow competition for younger farmers, displays of vintage farm machinery, amazing birds of prey and locally grown produce exhibitions.

High speed stunts and acrobatics wowed

And for a modern touch, to widen the appeal still further, there was an amazing array of stands and market stalls selling everything from handy DIY stuff to photographic portraits as well as a major car dealer, the obligatory food markets and more agriculturally orientated wares for sale.

The contrast in weather to last year’s heavy rain also brought out enormous crowds, many thousands in number, all eager to see another star attraction in the shape of the Royal Artillery Flying Gunners motorcycle display team… a funny and extraordinary show full of high speed acrobatics, car jumping and military innovation which wowed the crowds and left them shouting for more.
