Successful debate on the future of social care

“An important day for me launching my vision for the way we provide adult care services in the future”

With many challenges ahead for adult social care in Staffordshire, today I set out what I think is the future.

scctvThe County Chamber hosted the first of a new style webcast debate outside the normal full County Council meetings and it was pretty well attended with good quality comment and examination of my proposals.

I spoke for 30 minutes or so to kick things off and set out my plans for Staffordshire Cares, a fundamental change in approach to the Labour Administration who lost control of Staffordshire in June after nearly 30 straight years in power.

And next week will see me visit all the districts and boroughs in the county to meet over 1500 social workers and other staff to explain the vision and how we are going to deliver it.

Now the plans start for real.
