Moving service at Drayton Remembrance
“Drayton Bassett was a moving and amazingly relevant parade and Service to remember our fallen heroes”
Each year, since being elected to County, I’ve attended a Remembrance Service in part of my patch to lay a wreath for the million people in the County of Staffordshire.
And this year I went to the village of Drayton Basset near Tamworth. We joined local scouts and dignitaries and a lot of other villagers for a parade around part of the village.
Then it was on to St Peters Church for a short Service before moving outside to lay the County wreath.
The Church Service was lovely… different to others I’ve attended as it was aimed more at youngsters. And some of the reading the very youngest Drayton villagers did was very very moving and poignant.
