Recession busting loans for small businesses
We said in our manifesto we’d help viable businesses through these difficult times…
My Cabinet colleague, Mike Lawrence, who is responsible across Staffordshire for Economy, Skills and Enterprise launched a new loan scheme for small business in the county today.
County has provided a million pounds to kick things off. The idea is that viable small companies having problems with their banks or who simply can’t get finance to get them through these very difficult times can apply for loans of between £10k and £50k from the Staffordshire Business Support Fund.
It’s taken a little longer than we hoped to launch but it is really important we get it absolutely right whilst making sure tax payers’ money is as safe as possible.
County are providing the finance but a not for profit specialist lender are actually operating the scheme as part of their normal work but with specific criteria and support for business in Staffordshire.
It’s faster and easier than the central government schemes and you can find out more http://www.bcrs.org.uk/
