Locals encouraged to attend wind farm meeting
“It’s about making sure locals have the chance to make their views known… whatever they are”
The application for four 420ft commercial wind turbines near to Haunton in the parish of Clifton Campville is thought to be due for submission to the district council at Lichfield in February 2010.
Read more about the background to it here. The important thing is for as many people as possible in the local area to understand the scale of the
‘Gulliver’, largest one in the UK is a metre taller than the ones proposed
project and the sheer size of wind turbines in what most people agree is a contraversial development site.
Some people will agree with the need for renewable energy regardless of the impact visually and the concern of local villagers near to the proposed development and some will say it must never happen in an area so open and close to local communities.
Whatever the views, it’s important they are made known to the planning authority once formal consultation opens on the application in the next few months.
And in advance of that, the parish councils of Clifton Campville with Thorpe Constantine and Harlaston have helped tremendously by arranging a further public meeting to share views following the recent exhibition by ProWind, the German company hoping to develop the project.
That public meeting will happen on Saturday 23rd January at 10am in the village hall at Harlaston… so if you live in the area I hope to see you there.
