Thomas Land comes to Drayton Manor Park
I revisited my childhood today when we were lucky enough to attend the official opening of Thomas Land, the brand new home of Thomas the Tank Engine and all his friends at Drayton Manor Theme Park in Fazeley near Tamworth.
An amazing feat of construction in only 18 months by the owners of Drayton Manor Park,
Colin Bryan and family, the Master of Ceremonies was the very grand Fat Controller with some words of thanks from Greg Dyke, the ex Director General of the BBC, who now chairs Hit Entertainment which owns the rights to Thomas and his friends.
Billed as a Europewide attraction it is a magical place for youngsters and adults alike. From
rides around the park aboard Thomas and his carriages, Clarabel and Annie, to a fabulous roller coaster with those Troublesome Trucks alongside Jeremy’s Flying School where you control your own aeroplane flying high above the park.
Percy, Thomas’s special friend, will be joining him soon to pull even more visitors around the park and there a dozen rides of different sorts and spectacular stations and buildings straight from the the Reverand Awdrey’s books.

This looks excellent. Nice to see the UK getting something ahead of the game.
We’re a couple of hours away but certainly looks worth the trip.
Looks great. My kids are mad on Thomas.
